2010 Poultry Festival Pageant

Sara Harkness, (middle) was crowned the 2010 East Texas Poultry Festival Queen, and stands with third runner up Emily Shoop (pictured right), and second runner up Julie Wilkins (pictured left). Following an extensive competition these ladies were chosen to be the top competitors of the pageant. Harkness will be present at the Poultry Festival this weekend to fulfill her duties as the 2010  Poultry Festival Queen.

Sara Harkness was crowned the 2010 East Texas Poultry Festival Queen this past Saturday evening at the Center High School cafetorium.
Following a long process of selection the ladies were finally on stage, and were judged in several different categories.
At the conclusion of a long and arduous process, the competition was finally condensed to three challengers –  Sara Harkness, Julie Wilkins and Emily Shoop.
After much deliberation throughout the night, the judges tallied the information down for each contestant, and made their final decision.
Out of all 11 contestants Sara Harkness was chosen as the Queen of the Poultry Festival for 2010. She was crowned by Poultry Festival Queen from 2009, Megan Horton.
Chris Watlington, and Wendy Tinkle paired up as the Masters of Ceremonies for the evening, and they entertained the audience all throughout the competition.
The award for Most Photogenic went to Erin Butler.
Honors and Activities award went to Kelsi Griffith, with Julie Wilkins 2nd, and Emily Shoop 3rd.
The award for the best GPA went to Brandi Taylor, with Julie Wilkins placing 2nd and Emily Shoop, 3rd;
Stage Presence was awarded to Sara Harkness, with Cassidy Rainbolt, 2nd, and Emily Shoop, 3rd;
Best Interview was awarded to Julie Wilkins, with Sara Harkness placing 2nd and Emily Shoop, 3rd;
The award for Social Skills went to Emily Shoop, with Cassidy Rainbolt as 2nd and Julie Wilkins, 3rd.  
The Easy Competition winner was Emily Shoop, with Sara Harkness placing 2nd and Carley DiVerdi, 3rd.
The Miss Congeniality honor, which is judged by the fellow competitors, was awarded to Kelsi Griffin.
Following the event, anyone that purchased a ticket was able to attend the banquet which was the culminating activity of the evening.
