Funeral services for James Earl “Butch” Snider, 68, of Center will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Watson and Sons Funeral Home with Bro. Pat Windham, Bro. Gordon Vaughn and Bro. Chris Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Short Cemetery in Center.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 14 at Watson and Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Snider passed away March 13 in Nacogdoches. He was born Feb. 8, 1944 to Jessie Snider and Verna Lou Moore Snider. Mr. Snider worked as a fuel mechanic at Texas Utility Mining Company, where he retired after 36 years of service. He was a member of Center Missionary Baptist Church in Center.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Jarrod Paul Snider; father, Jessie Snider; brother, Jerry Snider and wife, Bobbie; brothers-in-law, Elmer Moore, Bobby Barbee and William Marshall Barbee; and sister-in-law, Beverly Walker.
Mr. Snider is survived by his wife, Vicky Barbee Snider of Center; sons, Jeremy Snider and wife, Ashley, of Tenaha, Jimmy Snider and wife, Debby, of Tenaha and Allen Snider and wife, Frances, of Elysian Fields; mother, Verna Lou Moore Snider of Center; grandchildren, Levi, Josh, Chris and Melissa Snider and Emily Dickinson; great-grandchildren, Jesse, Judson and AndieLeigh Snider, Rylan and Ryden Dickinson and Madelynn Williams; sisters, Sandra Harvey and husband, Mark, of Center and Norma Moore of Signo; brothers, Billy M. Snider and wife, Debbie, of Center, Travis Snider of Center and Gary Snider and wife, Rhonda, of Center; brothers-in-law, John Barbee and wife, Geenie, of Center, Ray Barbee and wife, Rosa, of Center, Archie Barbee and wife, Cindy, of Center, Donald Barbee and wife, Julie, of Logansport, La. and Ricky Barbee of Center; sisters-in-law, Barbara McDonald of Garrison, Joann Rushing and husband, Bill, of Center, Linda Cougler and husband, Everett, of Center, Ronda Holloway and husband, Robert, of Center, Carolyn Harkness and husband, Ricky, of Center and Sharon Barbee of Shelbyville; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be John Yarborough, Shane West, Joe Steed, Artie Crow, Johnny Magby, Bob Collier, James Hagler and Travis Brittain.  
Honorary pallbearers will be Scooter Johnson, Jackie Cannon, Calvin Cannon, John Barbee, Ricky Barbee and Archie Barbee Jr.
