Youth win awards in poster, poetry contests

Area participants in the Center Garden Club youth poster and poetry contests earned award in area and regional contests.
Students who won were Ava Silva, who received an honorable mention for her poster in the first grade division.
Third grader Allison Jones received an honorable mention for her poster and placed in poetry.
Sarah Scull earned a first place in the 2nd grade poetry division and a first place in the 2nd grade poster.
Keelan Williams earned an honorable mention for her poem in the 4th grade category.
Morgan Porter recieve 2nd place for her poetry, also in 4th grade.
Sixth grader Dela Agnew place 2nd in poetry.
In the 7th grade poetry category, Jacob Stanford placed first, and Michael Stanford placed 2nd.
Daniel Stanford placed first in 8th grade poetry.
Ashlynne Broadway won an honorable mention for her essay entered in the high school division. Ashlynne also received a cash prize.
Center Garden Club president Carolyn Bounds congratulated all the students for their awards.
