The Shelbyville 7th grade girls squad claimed first-place honors, while the Lady Dragon eighth grade placed fourth overall at the District 25-1A Middle School Track Meet held last week.

Grade Girls
In the seventh grade girls' relays: the 400-meter relay foursome of Hannah Hall, Roderica Johnson, Bailey Rabalais and Jakira Ross placed second; the 1,600-meter relay of Johnson, Kennedy Parker, Catelyn Campbell and Kaci Griffin took top honors; and the 800-meter relay consisting of Johnson, Rabalais, Ross and Kamryn Smith also captured first place.
In the seventh grade girls' individual running events: Jennifer Bradford won the 2,400-meter run; Bradford placed sixth in the 800-meter run; Kaci Griffin ran second in the 200-meter dash; Hannah Hall won the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and Kamryn Smith placed second; Griffin placed second in the 200-meter dash; Jakira Ross captured the 1,200-meter run; Hannah Hall won the 100-meter high hurdles, with Smith placing second and Bradford running fourth; Ross ran first in the 100-meter dash, with Rabalais coming in second and Roderica Johnson placing third; Kaci Griffin came in second in the 400-meters and Kennedy Parker was fourth.
In the seventh grade girls' field events: Kaci Griffin won the high jump; Rakira Ross captured the long jump, with Hannah Hall coming in second; Kamryn Smith was third in the triple jump; Smith posted the second-best height in the pole vault; Bailey Rabalais captured the discus, with Kennedy Parker coming in sixth; Rabalais won the shot put, with Parker third and Jennifer Bradford seventh.

In the eighth grade girls' relays: The 800-meter relay foursome of Belinda Bohannon, Tamia Douglas, Lindsey Holbrook and Brooklyn Porter captured top honors; the 400-meter relay team of Porter, Malaka Bolton, Bohannon and Jabria Jenkins came in second; the 1,600-meter relay foursome of Bohannon, Blaire Deal, Wytavia Jones and Lindsey Holbrook placed fourth.
In the eighth grade girls other running events: Jabria Jenkins ran sixth in the 2,400-meter run; Belinda Bohannon placed third in the 800-meters, Malaka Bolton ran third in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles; Jenkins placed fourth in the 200-meters, with Lindsay Holbrook running sixth; Tamia Douglas came in fifth in the 1,200-meters; Bolton was second in the 100-meter high hurdles; Brooklyn Porter posted the third-fastest time in the 100-meters, with Malaka Bolton running fifth; and Deal placed fourth in the 400-meters. In the eighth grade girls field events: Jabria Jenkins placed second in the high jump; Jenkins was sixth in the long jump; Jenkins posted the second-longest distance in the triple jump; Brooklyn Porter won the pole vault; Wytavia Jones came in sixth in the discus; and Blaire Deal was fourth in the 400-meters.
