S’ville Dragons fall short to Garrison, 8-4

The Shelbyville Dragons scored four runs in the top of the first inning, but the lead didn't hold up as the Garrison Bulldogs secured an 8-4 victory over SHS at Dragon Field on Friday evening.
The Dragons (5-11), who lost for the fifth time in six district games, finished with five hits and four errors, while Garrison recorded eight hits and only committed one error.
Blane Deal led the Shelbyville attack, finishing 2-for-4, picking up a double, while driving in a pair of runs. Ryon Vaughn went 1-for-2, while drawing a walk, Brandon Schilder had a 1-for-3 game, while drawing a walk and Caleb Stracener went 1-for-3 and was hit by a pitch.
Schilder took the loss on the mound for the Dragons. He went the distance against the 'Dogs, allowing eight runs on eight hits with three strikeouts, three walks and he hit a batter.
Shelbyville fell to 2-4 in District 21-1A action with the setback.
The Dragons then came back for a 2-0 win over Alto Tuesday night to improve to 6-11 on the year, 3-4 in league play.
The Dragons will host Martinsville on Thursday at 6 p.m. and continued their short two-game home stand by hosting Gary next Tuesday at 6 p.m.
