It was a strong outing for the Tenaha High School tennis team on Friday as two members of the squad have already clinched Class 1A Region IV berths, while three others have advanced to finals in the District 25-1A Tennis Tournament, which will take place next Monday in Beaumont.
The opening round of the league tourney was held at Lamar University in Beaumont. The finals are scheduled back at Lamar on Monday, April 9.
Two members of the Tenaha squad have already clinched a berth into the Class 1A Region IV Tournament at A&M Consolidated High School in College Station.
The Tenaha mixed doubles duo of Ashlee Ray and Assuntay Cleaver won a pair of matches in the preliminary rounds at district have clinched the regional berth.
Tiger athletes Edgar Flores and Jose Campos advanced to the district finals in boys' doubles. They are set to make a return trip to Lamar.
In girls' singles action, Camryn Sisk will be making the return trip for the district finals after advancing on Friday.
Another set of boys' doubles, DeAaron Roland and Demon Horton, will be playing for third place in District 25-1A.
Tenaha mixed doubles duo of Whitney Jackson and Vincent Walton placed fourth at the district competition.
The team is coached by Ray Jackson.
