Funeral services for Edith Baker, 88, of Huxley and the Shelby County area, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2012 at Mangum Funeral Home with Bro. Gordon Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow at Strong Cemetery in Huxley.
Mrs. Baker passed away Wednesday, June 6 in Cypress. She was born June 30, 1923 in Shelby County to Eddie Franklin and Maggie O. Miller Delaney. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Albert Baker; sons, Hubert “Hubie” Baker and Richard Baker; daughter-in-law, Patricia Baker; sister, Lela Permenter; and brother, Leroy Delaney.
Mrs. Baker is survived by sons, Lonnie Baker of Willis and Kenneth Baker and wife, Sherry, of Willis; daughter, Angie Carlson and husband, Gary, of Houston; grandchildren, Stephen Baker of Houston,
Jennifer Malloy of Willis, Mandy Willis and husband, Chris, of Jasper, Bryan Baker and wife, Jennifer, of Richmond and Emma and Madelyn Carlson of Houston; step-grandchildren, Sandy Hoelzer and Brandi Adams; great-grandchildren, Dalton and Delaney Holley, Ty and Ava Baker and Bailee Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Rick Permenter, Charles Delaney, Stephen Baker,
Bryan Baker and Prentice Hendricks.
