Attempted break-in results in hospitalization, arrest of alleged assailant

Sheriff Newton Johnson reports that on June 15, 2012 at approximately 10 p.m. The Shelby County Sheriff’s office received a 911 call reporting that there had been a attempted home invasion at 5943 State Highway 7 East at the Khourn residence.
Darith Khourn reported that a black male had knocked on their door and that he couldn’t understand what he was saying and then the person pulled a gun and pointed it at him. That is when his dad, Thay Khourn, pulled him out of the way and shot through the door. The suspect fled the scene and was later found at the emergency room in Mansfield La.  He was arrested and booked into the Desoto Parish jail with a hold from Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office went to Desoto Parish and took into custody 31 year old Tiraous Tyrome Howard of Mansfield La. He was booked into the Shelby County Jail and charged with Aggravated Robbery.
