Funeral services for Effie Lee Goodman Dupree, 96, of Plano will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Visitation will be Saturday, July 7 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Due to summertime heat, there will be no graveside services.
Mrs. Dupree passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 in Dallas. She was born December 15, 1915 in Nacogdoches County to James F. and Carrie Lee Ricks Goodman. She had lived in Vidor for 40 years, then in Lufkin for four years, and the last nine years in Dallas. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling, visiting with relatives and friends, domions, 42, puzzles, catfish, dessert, and spending time at “the lake house” in Milam.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond R. Dupree of Vidor; and one sister, Gladys Singleton of Palestine.
Mrs. Dupree is survived by her two sons, Raymond L. Dupree and wife Carol of Dallas, and James E. Dupree and wife Brenda of Schertz; four grandchildren, Greg Dupree and wife Anita of Plano, Kyle Dupree of Fairview, Sara Inman of McAllen, and Raymond D. Dupree of Lufkin; two great grandchildren, Jason Todd Dupree of Nacogdoches and Averill Skye Dupree of Plano; and her sisters, Lois Dockens of Livingston, and Elaine Squyres of Nacogdoches;.
