Traffic at stand still on Hwy. 7 west

Emergency crews were called out to the scene of a wreck at approximately 11:45 yesterday, July 25, at the intersection of Hwy. 7 West and FM 711. The accident occurred when a Tyson live haul chicken truck approached the intersection and failed to stop, then colliding nearly head on with a black GMC truck that was westbound on Hwy. 7. Driver of the live haul truck stated that his brakes failed and was unable to stop the rig. Two persons were traveling in the live haul truck and two persons were traveling in the GMC truck. All parties refused treatment at the scene and citations were pending further investigation. Traffic was at a standstill in both eastbound and westbound lanes while Texas Department of Transportation and clean up crews removed the chicken truck and debris from the incident.
