A single-vehicle wreck on State Highway 7 East resulted in loss of life to the driver Wednesday morning.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper Keith Jones, at approximately 7:50 a.m. a 2005 red Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Billy B. Bradshaw, 68, of Center was traveling eastbound on State Highway 7 East near CR 3156.
Witnesses stated that Bradshaw crossed into the westbound lane, never hitting his brakes, and struck two trees on the westbound side of the roadway with the front left of the vehicle causing the vehicle to rotate 180 degrees. The truck came to rest facing west.
The Center Fire Department arrived at the scene to help extricate Bradshaw from the truck so that EMS to transport him. Care Plus EMS transported Bradshaw to a nearby field where the Center Fire Department had established a landing zone.
Life Air Rescue landed at the scene and Bradshaw was life-flighted to LSU Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Bradshaw later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at LSU Hospital.
